Bus information (Conveyance allowance)

The Conveyance Allowance is a form of financial assistance for parents/carers to transport children to and from school. The conveyance allowance is available to eligible students travelling by public or private bus.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Student resides 4.8km or further from their school (refer BING MAPS website)
  • Student is attending their nearest school (or a letter is provided from their nearest school stating that an enrolment place was not available)

BTS (Bellarine Transit System)

Students travelling from Bellarine and Surf Coast areas are fully subsidised and are required to complete a Public Transport Travel Student Conveyance Allowance application form in order to receive a bus pass from McHarry’s Buslines. Bus Passes are issued and posted to you by McHarry’s Buslines.

Government Country bus

Students travelling from Anakie, Anglesea, Bambra, Bannockburn, Barrabool, Batesford, Bellbrae, Bells Beach, Buckley, Ceres ,Deans Marsh, Fairhaven, Freshwater Creek, Gheringhap, Gnarwarre, Inverleigh, Lethbridge, Little River, Lorne, Maude, Meredith, Moorabool, Moriac, Mt Moriac, Shelford, Stonehaven, Teesedale, Winchelsea, Wingeel are required to complete an Application for Permission to Travel form.

Bus Passes are not issued for this travel.

Please note: Students travelling from areas such as Anakie, Bannockburn, Batesford, Meredith, Inverleigh or Wingeel are not attending the nearest appropriate school, therefore to be eligible for the conveyance allowance, they must have a letter from Clonard College stating that an enrolment place is not available for them at Clonard College.

GTS (Geelong Transit System)

Students travelling from suburban areas of Geelong 4.8km or further from Sacred Heart College (refer BING MAPS website) including Avalon, Connewarre, Lara, Leopold, Moolap, Waurn Ponds and Armstrong Creek may be eligible to claim a conveyance allowance refund from the Department of Education and are required to complete the following forms:

  • Victorian Public Transport Student Concession Card and Student Pass Application (the form must be for the applicable year of travel and will be available in January 2017 online at www.ptv.vic.gov.au, V/Line, PTV Hub at Westfield Shopping Centre or College Reception.)
  1. Complete the Victorian Public Transport Student Concession Card and Student Pass Application form, along with 2 passport photographs.
  2. This form needs to be validated at College reception and taken to V/Line or PTV Hub for the purchase of your half yearly or yearly pass.
  3. A copy of the pass receipt must be presented to College reception and only then will the purchase price of the ticket be reimbursed to you via your school fee account. If you purchase a Yearly Pass, you will be reimbursed via your school fee account for full payment in Term 2. If you purchase a Half Yearly Pass, your fee account will be reimbursed in 4 installments throughout the year.
  4. Please submit receipts to College reception by Friday 17 February 2017 (student name to be noted on receipt).

Please note: Students travelling from areas such as Bell Post Hill, Corio, Lara and Norlane are not attending the nearest appropriate school, therefore to be eligible for the conveyance allowance, they must have a letter from Clonard College stating that an enrolment place is not available for them at Clonard College.

Change of Address

If there is a change of address during enrolment, please notify the College and complete the relevant Public Transport Travel Student Conveyance Allowance Application Form with current address details.

Please note that the PDF forms do not need to be completed each year unless there is a change to your address details.
