With VCAA exams now complete, tomorrow night the graduating class of 2024 will gather at the Katsumata Centre at Kardinia College, followed by dinner at GMHBA Stadium, to mark the end of their secondary education. No doubt, these students feel a sense of accomplishment and relief and have good reason to celebrate.
During their six years of secondary education they have navigated a disrupted educational landscape and emerged confident, agile, and flexible. They have also honed their attributes of courage, determination, and persistence. As a community, we are incredibly proud of them. Collectively, we congratulate them and wish them well as they prepare to leave Sacred Heart, knowing that they share the qualities and attributes of the Sisters of Mercy and, therefore, they go with confidence and courage to follow their passion and to create positive change in our world.
The end of the year is fast approaching for all students, with Year 11 students completing exams and moving into Unit 3/4 Orientation, whilst our Year 7 to 10 students complete assessment tasks in readiness for the final week of school, which sees our students engaging in:
Week One of Term Two in 2025 will be a short teaching week due to two public holidays: Easter Monday on 21 April 2025 and Anzac Day on Friday 25 April 2025.
As a result, Sacred Heart College and St. Joseph's College have agreed to designate these days as student and staff holidays, creating a three-week end of Term One break for 2025.
Term Two will officially begin for students and staff on Monday 28 April 2025.
To make up for the lost learning days for students, Sacred Heart will cancel the following student free days:
