Enrolments College Tours

Sacred Heart College is built on a legacy of giving, a tradition sustained by generations of families who believe in the power of education. From Mother Xavier Maguire’s arrival in Geelong, where she raised £1,000 to establish our College in 1860, to our recent milestone, when our community collectively raised $400,000 in a single day for our new Sports and Wellness Precinct, our history is defined by this collective spirit.

We simply would not be where we are today without the generosity of our alumni, families and wider community. It is through this shared vision of giving that we continue to provide an environment where every student is empowered to thrive.

Receiving this scholarship to attend Sacred Heart College provides me with an opportunity to truly make the most of my education. I honestly wouldn’t be able to attend without it, and this support motivates me to persevere through challenges and actively participate in my learning. It’s incredibly encouraging to know that Sacred Heart believes in my potential.

The diverse opportunities available to me daily have opened up a world of possibilities. I feel a strong sense of belonging within this remarkably supportive College community. I am truly grateful for my place here and for everyone who contributes to the scholarship fund, making this experience possible.

Equity Scholarship Program

We continue to uphold the vision of our foundress, Catherine McAuley, who believed in empowering women through education. She appreciated the unique contributions women make to society and effectively supported the shift towards greater equity.

Sacred Heart remains committed to providing these opportunities through our Equity Scholarship Program. By removing financial barriers, these scholarships do more than just provide an education; they offer a life-changing pathway for students who would otherwise not be able to attend the College.

  • Directly enacts our commitment to social justice and the belief that every girl deserves an exceptional education.
  • Ensures our student body reflects the broader community, fostering diverse perspectives in the classroom.
  • Provides students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds with the academic foundation needed to nurture their potential.
  • Empowers young women to become leaders inspired by their own journeys and driven to give back to their communities.

Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship Program

Building on our Equity Scholarships, we wanted to ensure our school promotes an inclusive curriculum that reflects the cultural, linguistic and religious diversity of Greater Geelong. Therefore, we offer an Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship (IDEP)  as part of our program.

The IDEP Scholarship is dedicated to students from refugee backgrounds who are navigating a new country and culture and learning the local education system. This can be highly challenging and is often the primary barrier to student learning.

This Scholarship welcomes, enables and supports students from refugee backgrounds to learn in a nurturing environment. Refugees can apply for a fully funded scholarship to explore cultures and beliefs that may differ from their own.

  • Personal transition programs.
  • Pastoral support groups for students and their families.
  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) Program.
  • Social/emotional learning programs, counselling, mentoring and ‘buddy’ supports, as well as refugee family engagement.
