We officially launched our school year the evening of Tuesday 17 February at our annual Maguire Celebration. There, we came together as a community to acknowledge student achievements and overall excellence, honouring our students and giving them the recognition they so deserve. These including high-achieving students from our 2025 Year 12 cohort, and we congratulated them for their hard work and diligence, both for last year and over all their years at SHC.
We formally acknowledged our 2026 student leaders, Alice McLeod, Mathilda Garrido Lucay and Milla Jarman, and we look forward to the energy and ideas they will bring to the College this year.
We were treated to some entertaining performances and an inspiring speech, given by our 2025 Dux Hattie Ingle, who focused on the power of resilience.
An important part of the evening is always the unveiling of the theme for the year. This year, our theme is ‘Lead the change. Be the difference’, a truly fitting theme to which to aspire.
