The Year 7 Music Concert, held on Thursday 11 June in our Performing Arts Centre, was a reSOUNDing success!
The program included an array of musical delights, including strings (violin, viola and cello), ensembles, flute and percussion, woodwind (clarinet and saxophone), an andante ensemble, a prelude ensemble, brass (trumpet and trombone), guitar, keyboard and closing with a couple of combined songs.
Beyond providing exceptional entertainment, the Year 7 Music Concert represents an integral milestone in our performing arts curriculum. Preparing for and executing a concert of this scale enables students to accomplish significant educational learning outcomes:
The hard work and dedication was apparent for all to see in the way these talented musicians performed. Fittingly, one of the final pieces of the evening was Ode to Joy - a masterpiece that perfectly captured the radiant energy, pride, and unbridled enthusiasm on display throughout the concert.
A massive thank you to our incredible Year 7 musicians for their dedication, passion and brilliant performances that kept the audience thoroughly entertained throughout the night. Sincere appreciation also goes to the dedicated music staff and instrumental teachers who instructed, encouraged, and prepared these young artists for the stage.
