Bus Travel

Many of our students travel to school by bus and school buses run in most areas of Geelong.

For information on bus routes to and from Sacred Heart College, please see this interactive Bus Routes Information listing. Please note the bus route information is a guide only. It will be regularly updated but for the most current and comprehensive bus route information please visit the busline websites.

Applying for Bus travel from Regional Areas (Private Bus)

Students in Regional Areas are required to complete an Application for Permission to Travel form. Bus Passes are not issued for this travel. The form needs to be submitted to College Reception. Bus travel is free for students in regional areas if the student is attending their nearest Catholic School. If the student is not attending their nearest Catholic school, a letter must be provided from their nearest Catholic school stating that an enrolment place was not available.  

Regional Areas include: Anakie, Anglesea, Bambra, Bannockburn, Barrabool, Batesford, Bellbrae, Bells Beach, Buckley, Ceres, Deans Marsh, Fairhaven, Freshwater Creek, Gheringhap, Gnarwarre, Inverleigh, Lethbridge, Little River, Lorne, Maude, Meredith, Moorabool, Moriac, Mt Moriac, Shelford, Stonehaven, Teesdale, Winchelsea and Wingeel.

    Bus Travel from Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast Areas (PTV Public School Bus)

    From 1 January 2026 students under 18 years of age are eligible for a Youth Myki card. A Youth Myki can be used on all public transport including public school buses.

    Please note, this is for Geelong Region bus travellers. Students travelling on Country buses still need to apply for travel via the usual process.

    How to Purchase a Youth Myki

    Online (Available Now):

    1. Go to the Transport Victoria website transport.vic.gov.au/tickets-and-myki/myki
    2. Register for a Myki account or log in to an existing account
    3. Purchase the Youth Myki card for $5
    4. The card will be mailed to you.

    OR

    At Staffed Train Stations (From 27 December 2025):

    1. Visit a staffed train station
    2. Purchase the $5 card in-person.

    Families no longer need to have PTV forms completed by the College or apply for a conveyance allowance.
