Explore life at Sacred Heart College

The College is hosting our Discovery Day on Friday 24 March 2023. The event provides an opportunity for prospective families and students to visit the school and experience learning in action at SHC.

With half our guest families attending the morning session and half the afternoon session, all young visitors are encouraged to use a Discovery Day College map (provided on the day) and explore the school areas and activities that spark their interest.

Families will also have an opportunity to meet Principal Anna Negro and College leadership staff, and pose any questions to staff House Leaders and student leaders.

Reminders

• On arrival via the Aphrasia St entrance, staff will direct you to the sign in tables where you can sign in via the QR code and collect your Discovery Day map.
• Parking will be more limited in the afternoon due to daily bus operation, so please ensure you leave enough time to park – Aphrasia Street parking is currently limited due to roadwork. Retreat Road and surrounding streets will have parking but due to the large number of guest families attending there may be a short walk involved.

Exploring key areas of the College

• Learning Centre
  Speak to our House Leaders about Mentor Groups and the House structure at SHC, plus discover myLearning Journey with the McAuley Years / Maguire Years.
  
  

• The Atrium
  Enjoy a hot drink from the café and chat to staff.

• Celies
  Visit the kitchens in Celies to see Pancake Art in action.

• St Stephen's Green
  College leaders will be available to answer questions, with Principal Anna Negro holding a short presentation on the green at the beginning of each Discovery Day session. You will also hear from Ebony Courtney our College Admissions Officer and Mark Pleasance our Director of ICT.

• Carmel O'Dwyer Centre (ODC)
  Walk down past the large Main Oval to visit the Sports and Wellness Precinct including the Weights Room.

• Chapel
  Take a quiet moment to experience the College's beautiful Chapel.

• Innovation Precinct
  Check out the incredible opportunities for creativity in the Makerspace and view learning in action through the many classroom windows.

• McAuley Hall
