On Thursday 26 March, five students travelled to the Catholic Leadership Centre in North Richmond for a reunion of the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, which was held in late 2025. At this event, we listened to Father Luke and his team from the Passionist Retreat Team, who shared insights into our Catholic identity, delving into Leading in Service, Leading in Presence and Leading in Witness.
A key takeaway from this event for the students was the power of shared perspective. Hearing from peers across the Catholic community reminded us that while our individual journeys are unique, we are all working toward a common goal of fostering a stronger, more inclusive Catholic identity in our schools.
Ultimately, the event proved that when young people are given the space to connect and collaborate, their collective voice becomes a powerful catalyst for positive change in our educational communities.
We are grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with the spirit and vibrancy of ACYF 2025 and look forward to implementing these lessons of presence and witness within our own community.
