Enrolments College Tours

The 2026 Respect Cup was more than a match; it was a masterclass. Sacred Heart College delivered a staggering 106-point victory over Loreto Ballarat, showcasing a team playing at the absolute peak of its powers in honour of International Women’s Day.

Sacred Heart displayed sheer dominance through relentless pressure and elite skill. The backline formed an impenetrable fortress, standing tall and conceding only a single goal through discipline and composure. In the centre, the ruck division achieved total midfield mastery, dominating the air to provide a silver-plated service to a midfield that hunted the ball with unmatched intensity. Up front, the forward line functioned in perfect harmony to pile on 18 goals, spearheaded by a six-goal sensation from Sienna Schmidt. Delivering a true captain’s knock, Co-captain Jayde Morrissy earned Best on Ground honours, leading the charge with elite ball-winning, inspiring intercepts, and a tireless work rate.

Beyond the game, the match served as a powerful platform for this year’s International Women’s Day theme: Balance the Scales. In a moving address, Co-Captains Jayde Morrissy and Georgia Wall highlighted how football empowers young women to "take up space" and break through traditional barriers. They spoke of a lasting legacy, acknowledging that while the game has evolved, the push for equal opportunity, fair pay, and safe environments remains a vital mission. As the captains proudly declared, the next generation of leaders has arrived, and 'female sport is here to stay'.
