Enrolments College Tours

Our VET Music students recently took their creative talents to the next level during an unforgettable studio recording excursion. The cohort had the exciting opportunity to visit 'don’t Poke the BEAR', a premier music recording studio owned and operated by Oxygen Music. Throughout the immersive session, every participating band and solo artist worked directly alongside a professional sound engineer to track and record two full songs. This hands-on experience provided our aspiring musicians with invaluable real-world exposure to standard recording studio workflows, professional audio equipment and commercial sound engineering techniques.

The students actively engaged with every technical aspect of the recording process, and what proved most impressive was the extraordinary level of original songwriting brought to the sound desk. A huge portion of the music recorded was the students' own original material, showcasing incredible creative vision, artistic maturity and musical depth. Working side-by-side with an industry professional allowed them to see firsthand how raw compositions are transformed into polished audio tracks.

Beyond technical skill development, the emotional impact of the studio environment left a profound impression on the entire group. Stepping into a fully equipped commercial studio inspired a renewed sense of pride, focus and artistic identity. One student joyfully declared that the session made her feel like a pop star!

Experiences of this calibre effectively bridge classroom learning with real industry standards, building confidence and inspiring young artists to pursue their creative ambitions with genuine passion. We are so proud of the maturity and enthusiasm these talented music students brought to this experience.

Be sure to keep an eye and ear out - these future stars are just getting started!
