‘Pi Day’ is an annual celebration of the irrational number Pi, observed on 14 March to honour the importance and beauty of mathematics.

At SHC, we celebrated with a week of Pi-themed activities, including a ‘Pi-Ku Poetry’ workshop, a competitive round of ‘Pi-ctionary’, and a campus-wide circle scavenger hunt, in which the unbeatable team of Year 9 students Annabelle Tonkin and Sarah Lenehan collected a whopping 60 circles!

The week saw fantastic student involvement, but the standout moment occurred during Monday’s Pi recital competition. In front of a large crowd, Year 10 student Chloe Lewellin claimed victory by successfully reciting 40 decimal places of Pi from memory.

Thank you to all students who helped make our mathematical celebrations so engaging!
